With the support of the Kingdom of Norway through the project "Norway for you - Montenegro", 20 farmers from Danilovgrad, Kolašin, Mojkovac and Žabljak received today equipment for packaging dairy products, packaging and other materials, which will contribute to strengthening the sustainability and competitiveness of small producers from Mount Sinjajevina.
Through the project "Heart of Sinjajevina" with a total value of 52,000 dollars, implemented in partnership of the Municipalities of Danilovgrad, Kolašin, Mojkovac and Žabljak, the assessment of the condition of milk production facilities on agricultural farms on the slopes of Sinjajevina and the assessment of the quality of produced dairy products were developed together with the visual identity of "Heart of Sinjajevina", which will enable recognizable branding of these products.
"Our four municipalities are connected by mutual friendship, business cooperation and Sinjajevina. With the support of Norway, we managed to procure valuable equipment for farmers that will help them market products not only in our country, but also beyond. I hope that together with the teams, we will continue to work on modernizing agricultural production in our municipalities," the Mayor of Danilovgrad Zorica Kovačević said.
The "Heart of Sinjajevina" project aims to support small producers of milk and dairy products to improve production processes and quality, expand into new markets and gain relevant certificates.
"This project is highly important for our municipalities, because I believe that agriculture will gain momentum as a basis for development, so that young people understand that they can make a good living out of it. And when we are united, we will always know more and progress more easily," said the Mayor of Kolašin Milosav Bulatović said.
Farmers also had the opportunity to get acquainted with modern production standards, finding financing to improve quality, production processes and placement.
"The municipality of Žabljak is making great efforts to make living and working conditions easier for people who are engaged in agriculture and livestock. Sinjajevina is a great resource for the production of healthy food, and with the support of Norway, we have successfully implemented a project that improves production," the Mayor of Žabljak Veselin Vukićević said
"The Kingdom of Norway provided support to a significant project to jointly improve standards, and dairy products to be placed on the markets in a better and more modern way," the Mayor of Mojkovac Ranko Mišnić stated.
The "Heart of Sinjajevina" project was funded by the Kingdom of Norway, as part of a public call for business support within the "Norway for You - Montenegro" project, with USD 43,600, while municipalities participated with USD 8,600.
"Thanks to the great commitment of the partner municipalities that implemented the project, I am glad that milk producers and processors have a chance to improve the quality and placement of their products. The production of cheese and other dairy products is a strategic potential of Sinjajevina, and can be one of the drivers of the development of this area. I hope that the municipalities will continue this good practice and cooperation on new projects in future,” the “Norway for you - Montenegro" Project Manager Armen Čekić said.
