Through the project, freezers, duplicators, lines for processing fruits and vegetables, packaging and other necessary equipment were procured, which will significantly improve the business of processors.
Agriculture producers from Gusinje received valuable equipment for processing milk, fruits and vegetables thanks to the support of the Kingdom of Norway within the project "Norway for you - Montenegro". The Municipality of Gusinje and the Regional Development Agency for Bjelasica, Komovi and Prokletije are implementing the project "Processing adds value", supported within the public call "Norway for you - Montenegro" for support to businesses, with the aim of improving the capacity of milk, fruit and vegetable processors.
"Through the project, we procured freezers, duplicators, lines for processing fruits and vegetables, packaging and other necessary equipment, which will significantly improve the business of processors. The needs of customers are changing and are becoming more demanding, which means an increasing demand for healthy food," Norway for you - Montenegro Project Manager Armen Čekić said.
The Kingdom of Norway funds this project with USD 43,910, while the Municipality of Gusinje provides the necessary logistical assistance and manages the project.
"The Municipality of Gusinje just determined agriculture as one of the important strategic development branches, so the municipality and its team are oriented to get increasing support for this sector from different donors, such as the Kingdom of Norway," said the Mayor of Gusinje Anela Čekić.
