The Kingdom of Norway, through the project "Norway for you - Montenegro" has allocated 200,000 euros for projects to support small businesses in the sectors of sustainable agriculture and food production chain, sustainable and health tourism, information technology, manufacturing and creative industries. Business incubators and hubs, research centers, academic institutions, business support civil society organizations, business associations, development agencies and other entities with a mandate to support small business development on a non-profit basis can apply within the public call until 12 December 2021.
The public call was designed in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development of Montenegro (MED), through the joint creation of a priority grant scheme, so that grants in the total value of 200,000 euros are distributed.
This public call aims to contribute to the development and growth of small businesses in Montenegro, by improving their competitiveness. The proposed project activities should include a specific number of small businesses and primarily relate to the digitalization of production and sales, contribution to reducing the negative impact on the environment, capacity building for greater resilience of small businesses, introduction of new technologies in production, marketing, branding and expansion of markets, introduction of different standards and training to find different sources of financing and capacity building of business support entities.
The main focus of the intervention is on improving targeted small businesses while emphasizing the elements of networking between business support organizations and local governments, and clearly demonstrating the value of the partnership presented.
The value of the grant can vary from 25,800 to 43,000 euros, while the financial participation of organizations is not mandatory. Project activities can last for a maximum of nine months.
