The production of bread and piecrust "Jugopek" of the Zečević family started in 2014 in Nikšić, as a family business. Although the first years were not easy at all, the owner Zorica Zečević was able to resist, to gradually increase the amount of bread and crust, so she had to hire several workers in the production line and distribution.
Today, their products are on the shelves of many hypermarkets and stores in Montenegro, but they are often served in restaurants and hotels. Like good dough, the production capacity of "Jugopek" has risen to 160,000 piecrusts and 200,000 loaves a year, and along with it, also the desire to expand to foreign markets.
"We are constantly investing in our products, and it took me a long time until I mastered the recipes, because quality is most important to me," says Zorica Zečević proudly. "We have improved production, as well as product quality, due to the better equipment we received with the support of the Kingdom of Norway, and we now hope to export to the surrounding countries."
Through the project "Norway for you - Montenegro", the Kingdom of Norway donated a "Jugopek" laminator, mixer, fermentation chamber and a small oven. Thanks to the expansion of production, this year, one supplier and two workers in the production of bread and piecrust got a job.
"The support of the Kingdom of Norway really means a lot to us. The work process went well before, but now our work is much easier after we received the machines for small pastries. We unburdened the mixer in the crust workshop, and the other one went to the bakery. Production would stop in case we didn't have another laminator, if our only one broke down.”
"Jugopek" also proved its responsibility towards the local community, so it donated flour to vulnerable families in the local community of Župa Nikšićka, and supported the students of the Elementary School "Dušan Bojović" to go on an excursion.
